There are a number of different responsibilities for different roles. These can be viewed through our job descriptions of each role:

After School Club Assistant

After School Club Manager

We operate sites that are very close geographically, although not frequently we do on occasions move staff or need staff to cover at different sites. If you are unable to move sites, please let us know at interview.

Once you have agreed to your shifts, you are not expected to take any time off.

If you are unwell you need to inform your club manager within the approved timescale as outlined in our policies.

You will be provided with a top that must be worn at all times.

To go with your uniform, you must wear plain dark trousers or tracksuit bottoms and suitable footwear for running around.

We make as much use of outdoor space as possible so please always be dressed appropriately.

The pay cycle runs from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month. You are then paid for these shifts on the 28th day of the following month. Holiday pay is accrued with every shift that you work. This is paid each pay period and will show as an additional line on your payslip.

In our after school clubs, you are expected to work the full hours without a break. This would be up to 3.5 hours in the afternoon.

In our Holiday Schemes you are paid for your whole shift so should not be going offsite. Everyone working over six hours is entitled to a 20-minute break. The Holiday Club Manager will ensure all staff have regular breaks.

Once onsite, all mobile phones and smart devices need to be put away. You are not allowed to have your phone on your person whilst working.

Every site has its own mobile and you can give the number out to anyone who needs to contact you.

You can check your phone and make calls when you are on a break and away from the children. You need to get the manager’s permission before doing this.

All staff members are required to complete online mandatory training as well as regular scheduled Giggles training sessions. You will be notified of these during your induction and each term.

Club managers are encouraged to work in week blocks to maintain our quality and consistency of care.

For other positions there is flexibility, all we ask is that you let us know when you are unavailable and we will not book you to work on these days. The more flexible you are the more work you are likely to get.
