Covid 19 Updates

Children will have their own food bag and places on the food table. The children will be asked what they want for breakfast & snack the staff with food hygiene will prepare and place in their bags. Lunch will be provided by parents. Children will be washing their hands before eating any food.

Government guidelines do not state we must clean after every use. We are following the same guidelines for school. We will also be cleaning toilets, handles and surfaces throughout the day.

We will not need to employ extra cleaners through the day. All cleaning will be part of daily staff duties. As bubbles will be the same for each day we will sanitise all shared toys and equipment daily.

Giggles will have sanitizer on site for use by all staff and children. We will be getting the children to wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.

Stationary equipment will be placed in personal zip bags. All other toys will be cleaned at the end of each session. All larger equipment will be sprayed daily with sanitizer.

Children’s welfare is our main priority. To handle transition we will be using regular staff so children feel comfortable.

We ask parents to provide child/ren with a water bottle with their name on. Children will have access to water to fill them.

After every activity, toilet visit and eating. If you child has cream the nominated first aider will ensure your child creams their hands regularly.

No. The government guidelines do not encourage this but if a child needs interment care Giggles will provide PPE to staff.

No, but if you would like your child to wear one you will need to provide. We will re-enforce your wish but will be unable to force a child to wear a face mask. We will report to you if your child refuses to wear a mask you have provided.

There will be no refunds for any days booked and not attended.

Giggles will provide PPE to staff that need to deal with all intermittent care this includes face mask, face shields aprons and gloves for the first aider.

The bubble size is a maximum of 15 and will have a minimum or 2 staff on site daily.

We conduct daily risk assessments and have updated these to identify and manage risks related to COVID-19. We regularly monitor the risks and amend when necessary. We will follow all guidelines issued by the government.

Any child who is ill and has signs or symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home immediately. If a child becomes un-well during a session they will be put in an area away from the bubble and staff will arrange collection by a parent/carer. Any children sent home from the club with symptoms will need to provide results of a COVID-19 test before returning to any session.

Staff will be keeping there 2 meters distance where possible. If a staff member needs to be closer PPE will be worn.

OFSTED, Staff and Ratios

Yes, all Giggles Childcare settings are registered with Ofsted. We follow Ofsted regulations and guidelines to ensure we are offering the best standard of care possible. Yes although the statutory minimum is a 1:30 ratio, all our clubs have a strict 1:12 ratio of adults to children, where possible this is reduce to 1:8 for children younger than 7 years of age.

All staff at Giggles Childcare settings are passionate about working with children. They are all DBS checked to Enhanced Level, have extensive experience and most hold qualifications in Playwork/Childcare. Our Club Managers will have a Level 3 or above in Playwork (or equivalent). If one of permanent staff team is not qualified to at least Level 2 in Playwork (or equivalent) we strongly encourage and support them to achieve this qualification whilst working for us. All clubs have a first-aider on site at all times. Giggles employees also benefit from ongoing training in various aspects of childcare including behaviour management, child protection and providing fun activities.

Payment Options & Childcare Vouchers

  • Credit/Debit Card: we accept all types of cards and make no charge for card payments. If you are booking over two months in advance payments can be spread across the duration of the booking using a re-occurring payment plan generated by the system.
  • Childcare Vouchers: we accept all types of childcare vouchers. Please contact us if yourequire assistance with these.
  • Tax Free Childcare: we accept Tax Free Childcare. Please contact us if you requireassistance with this.

We encourage you to make a regular booking covering a period of time, so you can make monthly payments. If you are paying by childcare vouchers or tax free vouchers, you will need to input the monthly amount you wish to pay. If your childcare/tax free vouchers do not cover the whole amount any outstanding balance should be paid in full or by card instalments set up at time of booking. The system will calculate this at the payment stage.

Giggles After School and Holiday Clubs are Ofsted registered childcare providers; you therefore may be able to subsidise the cost of using our clubs through one of the following:

Giggles accept all types of childcare vouchers and tax free childcare. This can be full or part payment towards abooking. The childcare voucher company you use will depend on which one your employer is registered with. Please speakto them to find out which voucher company you use. If it is not on our list then please contact us so wecan register ourselves with them. Most childcare voucher companies provide parent access to pay online via their website.Please see our payment document for more information on how to pay using childcare vouchers. This document includes alist of all the childcare voucher companies and our unique reference number required to make your payment to us.

Just add your provider name and the amount you would like to pay. If it is for bookings that span over 2 months or more youwill be able to pay monthly with your child care vouchers. But please don’t forget to arrange payment through the provider –using your parent ID number as the payment ref.

If you are paying by Tax Free Childcare, please inform us of your reference number when making your first booking so we canallocate the payment to your account when we receive it.

Yes you can split the payments between your debit/credit card and voucher.

No, we are unable to accept payment via cash, cheque, bank transfer or PayPal.

No, payment for sessions is due in advance. You have an hour to pay for your session or they will be removed from the system automatically. For bookings that are longer than 2 months, a monthly instalment payment plan can be created via the system.

To enable us to provide a quality service, we require advance payment either in full or by a payment plan. Your payment must be set up and completed via our online system before your childs first day.

Yes, if your booking is for longer than two months. The first instalment must be paid on booking and the following monthly instalments will be set by thesystem and can be on a date convenient for you.

Once you have made a booking and payment has been made you will receive an email confirmation.

Holiday Club FAQs

All children must be booked with their place confirmed by the system beforeattending. We recommend booking 72 hours before, however if spaces are available you can book your child’s space up to the evening before you would like your child to attend. If for any reason you would like your child to attend the club without a prior booking, please call us to confirm we can accommodate them to avoid you or our child being turned away.

You can look at availability on our website and/or on your account.

We advise that you plan your days in advance and book as many as you can up-front. This allows us to plan effectively and prepare the best days for your child. Using our system, you can book for individual sessions or for the whole of the holiday scheme.

Please provide a healthy and nutritious packed lunch for your child. We will provide a light breakfast and a healthy and nutritious snack during the day but all children require a packed lunch. Drinking water will always be available.

Packed lunch recommendation: non-fizzy drinks, fresh and non-processed food such as fruit, vegetables, wholemeal bread and biscuits, raisins, natural yogurts, crackers as well as ice packs, frozen gel or frozen juice drinks.

We recommend children come to our club prepared for our unpredictable English weather; on any given day this should include sun cream, sun hat, waterproofs, or warmer clothing. Children may opt-in to any activity, so we would suggest packing a change of clothes that you don’t mind getting messy due to outdoor play or any art & craft activities.

Please ensure any items brought to our clubs are clearly labeled. Please ensure children do not bring any valuable toys or belongings with them, although we will do our best, we can not be held responsible if they go missing.

Children can be dropped off to our Giggles Holiday Scheme Clubs from 8 am. On some occasions we offer a walking bus service, this is advertised when available.

The standard day runs from 8 am till 6 pm. We encourage that all children have arrived on-site by no later than 9:55 am as the first scheduled activity or departures from the club are planned for 10 am.

A parent/guardian must sign all children in/out each day.

If there are any changes to your contact details since last attending giggles holiday club or any medical updates, please ensure this is communicated to us prior to your child’s first day.

Where possible we try to accommodate friendship groups and mixed ages. Therefore,on most occasions if your child would like to be grouped with friends or family they can choose to do so.

 

Giggles can only administer prescribed medication. Please ensure you hand any medication required to the Club Manager with aPermission to Administer Medicine form. We can email this form to you prior to your child attending. Ifyour child requires regular medication, we recommend that you supply the Club with extra medication which can be stored to avoid regular transfer.

It is your responsibility to collect medication from us at the end of your childs holiday scheme booking, any uncollected medication may be disposed of.

 

Only people listed as a Collector on your account can pick up your child. You can easily change this and add people by logging into your account. Staff will only release children to people who you have added to your account. Please ask that collectors bring photo ID with them for checking, especially if it is their first time. Any person collecting your child must be over 16 years of age.

 

You can cancel online. We require at least 72 hours’ notice in order for you to receive a credit note.

If we have 72 hours’ notice we are also happy to swap a child’s days in the holiday scheme to an alternative day.

Unfortunately, if you cancel with less than 72 hours notice then we are unable to offer a credit note as we would have already paid for trips, staff, and activities with your children’s place considered.

 

Online Booking FAQs

All bookings are made via our online booking system. If you are a NEW parent to Giggles click “register” on our website. Once you have entered some basic details you will be taken to the registration page for our booking system. You will be asked to set up an account by giving a few details, again, about yourself and entering a password that you wish to use for your online account. Once you have submitted this you will receive an email that will enable you to now register your child/ren’s details and make a booking. Once registered you can book your sessions at any time by clicking ‘book now’ via our booking site or clicking “login” from our website and then entering your email address and the password. You will then be taken to your online account where you can check upcoming bookings, outstanding payments, and make new bookings.

The person making the booking accepts the booking conditions on behalf of all on the booking/registration forms.

If for any reason you would like your child to attend the club without a prior booking, please call us to confirm we can accommodate them to avoid you or our child being turned away.

No, all bookings need to be made online by the customer,children must be booked in prior to attending any session. If you are having trouble with making a booking please contact us to see how we can help.

 

Once registered, you can book your child in for any session.

The whole school year is available for booking from the previous June, with existing parents receiving some priority.

We make Holiday scheme dates available from at least 6 weeks in advance of the start of the scheme.

We recommend at least 72 hours notice is given for bookings, however generally as long as space is available you can book up until the night before a session. Please call us if you need to clarify.

 

There is flexibility to book different days each week.

Yes of course – subject to availability. For after school clubs you can book online up to three hours before the startof the session. After this time, we recommend that you call us directly, before making the booking, to ensure we can accommodate your child.

We do not offer part sessions for either after school or holiday clubs, but you are more than welcome to drop off or collect your child at anytime during the session.

There is a 5% sibling discount for the second and subsequent siblings offered on after school and holiday club bookings where siblings attend the same sessions.

Yes – you can cancel online and get a credit note the following notice is required:

All bookings

72 hours or more notice of the booking date – 100% credit note

Less than 72 hours notice of the booking date – no refund available

You do not need to inform us of cancellations as you do these directly through the system. It is your responsibility to inform the school if your child is not attending the after school club.

For after school club bookings, if there is availability you can cancel booked sessions and book new sessions using your credit note.

Holiday booking day swaps can only be made subject to availability and with a minimum of 72 hours notice of the session you want to change. You will need to call us for us to arrange this our end.

Term Time Club FAQs

You can cancel your sessions through the booking system. For on the day cancellations, please email us at gigglesnews@hotmail.co.uk with the full name of your child, school and club they attend. If this is before 1pm please can you call us with this information.It is your responsibility to inform the school that your child will not be attending after school club.

Giggles After School and HolidayClubs are fully inclusive and we try to support all children. We need to know if your child has any additional needs so we can provide them the best support. Please speak to the club manager before your childs first day, they will ensure we are well prepared. You should also include all necessary information on your online registration form.

If your child requires 1 to 1 support, we need enough time to arrange this. We do not offer 1 to 1 support as standardso this would be chargeable at an hourly rate. If required, we would suggest you speak with your local authority who may beable to help you access local funding.

If your child attends a school where we have an on-site After School Club, your child’s school will be made aware in advancethat they are due to attend on a given afternoon. For children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 either a school staff member willescort children directly to our club or one of our staff team will collect children from their class. For children inKS2 and above, they make their own way to the club.

For children attending a club not based on a school site, one (or more depending on ratio) of our staff team will collect your child from a pre-defined meeting point or from their class depending on our arrangement with the school.

You can collect your child from an after school club at any time from school finish until 6pm. All children must be signed out by 6pm.

Late Fees of £8 per 15 minutes are applied for late collections. You must call us as early as possible if your child will be collectedlate. Only people listed on the registration and who are 16 years of age or older can collect.

This will have to be discussed on a case by case basis and sometime we may not be able to help.
